Beijing, March 18th—Guo Yezhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation led by Sherry Rehman, Deputy President of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Chair of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Committee in Senate.

Guo made positive comments on the contribution of the PPP to the cause of China-Pakistan friendship, saying that the CPC is willing to continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the PPP to consolidate the political foundation for promoting the construction of the CPEC and deepen the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between China and Pakistan.

Sherry Rehman said that the PPP is willing to inherit and carry forward the traditional friendship between Pakistan and China, deepen the friendship between the two Parties, jointly promote the construction of the CPEC and promote the sustained, sound and stable development of Pakistan-China relations.

Both sides also exchanged views on jointly well holding the 1st meeting of the CPEC Political Parties Joint Consultation Mechanism.
