Beijing, March 18th—Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the morning with the Belgian multi-party parliamentarian delegation headed by Christiane Vienne, Chairman of the Belgium-China Friendship Group in Belgian Parliament.

Qian briefly introduced China’s current situation in economic and social development as well as China's policies and measures for further reform and opening up. He said China is willing to work with the Belgian side to further promote China-Belgium and China-Europe relations on the basis of mutual respect and mutual benefit and win-win results.

The Belgian side noted that as China's international status and role are rising, Europe and China should strengthen communication and coordination to jointly uphold multilateralism and promote world peace and development.
