Song Tao Meets with Acting General Secretary of the Bangladesh Awami League

Dacca, March 22nd—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Acting General Secretary of the Bangladesh Awami League.

Song said President Xi Jinping made a landmark visit to Bangladesh in October 2016, elevating bilateral ties to a strategic cooperative partnership. China attaches great importance to developing relations with Bangladesh and is ready to work with the Bangladesh Awami League to implement the consensus reached by leaders of the two Parties, strengthen the institutionalized exchanges between the ruling parties of the two countries, deepen the exchanges of experience between the two Parties in state governance and administration, push forward the cooperation between the two countries in jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative to a new level and constantly enrich the connotation of China-Bangladesh strategic cooperative partnership. Song also introduced Xi Jinping thought on diplomacy of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era.

Hanif spoke highly of Xi Jinping thought on diplomacy, saying that the Bangladesh Awami League is a staunch supporter and practitioner of Bangladesh-China friendship and is willing to continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation with the CPC, continuously upgrade the level of exchanges between the ruling parties of the two countries, and promote win-win cooperation between the two countries under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative to jointly benefit the two peoples.
