On March 25th, Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met in Singapore with Heng Swee Keat, First Assistant Secretary-General of the People's Action Party (PAP) and Minister of Finance of Singapore.

Song congratulated Heng Swee Keat on his election as the PAP First Assistant Secretary-General. Song said that China and Singapore are friendly neighbors with geographical proximity, blood ties and cultural affinity. Since President Xi Jinping's visit to Singapore in 2015, China-Singapore all-round cooperative partnership progressing with the times has made positive progress and achieved fruitful results in various fields. China is ready to proceed from the long-term development of bilateral relations and the overall situation of regional stability, and work with Singapore to actively implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, enhance mutual trust, deepen cooperation, promote the building of a new type of international relations featuring mutual respect, fairness and justice and win-win cooperation, promote regional stability and prosperity and bring more benefits to the two peoples. The CPC is ready to strengthen exchanges with the PAP at all levels, deepen exchanges and mutual learning and guide the long-term, sound and stable development of China-Singapore relations.

Heng Swee Keat that Singapore-China relations are a model of equality and win-win cooperation between big and small countries. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and President Xi Jinping, bilateral and multilateral cooperation between both countries has been deepening. Singapore is ready to strengthen strategic dialogue with China, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, keep close coordination and cooperation, push bilateral cooperation for more achievements and jointly defend multilateralism and free trade.
