At the invitation of the Free Egyptians Party of Egypt, Sun Zhigang, Member of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee, led a CPC delegation to visit Egypt from March 30th to April 2nd. During his stay in Egypt, Sun met respectively with Mahmoud El-Sharif, First Deputy Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament; Essam Khalil, President of the Free Egyptians Party; Hossam El-Khouly, Secretary-General of Nation's Future Party; and Abdel Aziz Konsowa, Governor of Alexandria. Sun signed a letter of intent to establish friendly provincial relations between Guizhou and Alexandria. During the meetings, Sun introduced Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and held talks with the Tunisian side on further developing bilateral ties, strengthening inter-party communication and boosting cooperation at local levels.
El-Sharif and others spoke highly of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, expressed the willingness to enhance exchanges with the CPC and participate in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and promote cooperation between both countries in such fields as youth, women, vocational and technical training and poverty alleviation, so as to push forward the comprehensive strategic partnership between Egypt and China.
