Wang Yajun Meets with the Governor of Toyama of Japan

Beijing, April 24th—Wang Yajun, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Ishii Takakazu, the Governor of Toyama of Japan.

Wang welcomed Ishii to attend the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in China, saying that currently China-Japan relations are showing a positive momentum of development and both sides should well implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations on the basis of the principles of the four political documents between the two countries. The building of the Belt and Road Initiative provides an important opportunity for the development of China and Japan. We hope Toyama will carry forward the fine tradition and actively participate in the Belt and Road Initiative to benefit the two peoples.

Ishii Takakazu thanked the International Department of the CPC Central Committee’s strong supporting for Toyama to carry out exchanges and cooperation with China over the years, and said that the Belt and Road Initiative is of great significance to the common development of China and countries all over the world. Toyama is willing to, together with Japan's other places, actively participate in international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, so as to contribute to deepening Japan-China friendship and promoting respective economic and social development.
