State Counselor of Myanmar Meets with Song Tao

Beijing, April 25th--Aung San Suu Kyi, State Counselor of Myanmar, who was in China for the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, visited the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) and met here today on the afternoon with Song Tao, Minister of the IDCPC.

Song welcome Aung San Suu Kyi’s attendance at the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, and expressed the willingness to join hands with Myanmar to actively implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, deepen exchanges and mutual learning between the ruling parties of both countries and pragmatic cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, advance the policy communication and people-to-people connectivity, and promote the comprehensive and in-depth development of relations between the two countries, to better benefit the two peoples.

Aung San Suu Kyi said that Myanmar firmly supports and actively participates in the Belt and Road cooperation and is willing to deepen the alignment of development strategies with China, strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, promote people-to-people and cultural exchanges and mutual learning, so as to enable the friendly cooperation between Myanmar and China to benefit the two peoples and push Myanmar-China relations to a new level.

Both sides also exchanged in-depth views on topics of mutual concern.
