Song Tao Meets with Delegation Led by Secretary-general of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan

Beijing, April 26th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with a delegation led by Nikai Toshihiro, Secretary-general of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, who was in China for the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

Song said that the current China-Japan relations have returned to the normal track. It is hoped that the ruling parties of both countries could further give play to the political leading role, promote all walks of life between the two countries to abide by the principles of the four political documents between China and Japan, well implement the important consensus of leaders of both countries, and constantly expand exchanges and cooperation in various fields including economy, trade, youth and at local level so as to promote long-term healthy and stable development of China-Japan relations. China welcomes Japan's more active participation in jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative, so as to achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win results between the two countries.

Nikai Toshihiro said that he was very glad to be invited once again to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and paid a courtesy call on President Xi Jinping. Japan sincerely welcomes President Xi’s attendance at the G20 Osaka Summit in Japan and looks forward to taking it an opportunity to deepen bilateral high-level contacts and exchanges and cooperation in various fields to promote Japan-China relations to enter a new era.
