Song Tao meets with Yemane Ghebreab, Head of Political Affairs of the People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ)

Beijing, May 8th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Osman Saleh, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Eritrea and Yemane Ghebreab, Head of Political Affairs of the People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ).

Song introduced Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and expressed that the CPC and the PFDJ have maintained long-term friendly relations. As ruling parties in respective countries, the enhancement of exchanges between the CPC and the PFDJ will surely play an important political guiding role in promoting relations between the two countries. The CPC is willing to, together with the PFDJ, strengthen strategic communication, intensify exchanges between the two Parties, consolidate the political foundation for the development of relations between the two countries, and jointly push relations between China and the State of Eritrea to consistently develop on the right track, so as to better benefit the two peoples. 

Osman said that the Eritrean side attaches great importance to developing its relations with China, and stands ready to further enhance bilateral strategic communication, and intensify bilateral exchanges and cooperation, so as to promote relations between the two countries for constant forward-looking development.

Speaking highly of the great achievements China has made in various causes under the leadership of the CPC with General Secretary Xi Jinping at the core, Yemane expressed that the PFDJ is willing to earnestly study and learn the CPC’s successful experience, and continue enhancing exchanges between the two Parties to inject sustained impetus into the development of relations between the two countries.
