Song Tao Meets with CPP Senior Cadre Study Group

Beijing, May 14th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a senior cadre study group of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) headed by Men Sam An, Member of the CPP Central Committee and Deputy Chairman of the CPP Control Commission and Hun Manith, Member of the CPP Central Committee and Deputy Chairman of the CPP Control Commission.

Song said that China and Cambodia enjoy traditional friendship and bilateral relations have withstood the test of international vicissitudes. President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Hun Sen have maintained close exchanges, charting the course for bilateral cooperation. All peoples have the right to live a good life. The CPC supports the CPP’s efforts in safeguarding national sovereignty, and promoting economic and social development. It is hoped that the two sides could well implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, deepen the inter-party exchanges, and promote their respective party construction and greater development of national development to benefit the two peoples.

Men Sam An thanked China for its long-term assistance to Cambodia's development and said that the Cambodian side firmly pursues a friendly policy towards China. The CPP is ready to strengthen strategic communication with the CPC, learn the CPC's experience in state governance and administration to and take relations between the two Parties and the two countries to a new level.

Hun Manith said Cambodia regards China as a good friend sharing weal and woe. Both countries support each other on issues concerning respective core interests. He expressed the hope that the two Parties and the two countries will strengthen cooperation and continuously cement Cambodia-China traditional friendship.

Wang Yajun, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the meeting.
