Qian Hongshan Attends the 11th Party Dialogue between CPC and CDU

Beijing, May 21st—Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the 11th party dialogue between the CPC and the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU), which was themed on the Belt and Road Initiative and third-party market cooperation between China and Germany.

Qian said that the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation opened a new stage for the Belt and Road cooperation. China welcomes Germany's active participation in the Belt and Road cooperation and is ready to strengthen strategic communication with Germany to promote bilateral and third-party market cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Manfred Grund, Secretary-General of the CDU-Christian Social Union parliamentary group in the German Bundestag, noted that the Belt and Road Initiative is a project of the century, which is conducive to promoting Eurasian connectivity and the economic and social development of all countries. Germany looks forward to strengthening cooperation with China in third-party markets in central and eastern Europe, central Asia and other regions.

The CDU delegation led by Grund, as well as experts and scholars from the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the China Institute of International Studies and other institutions made statements centering on the theme, had in-depth exchanges and reached many important consensuses.
