You Quan Leads CPC Delegation to Visit Lithuania

At the invitation of the Lithuanian Parliament, You Quan, Member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, led a CPC delegation and paid a friendly visit to Lithuania from May 30th to July 2nd. During his stay in Lithuania, You met respectively with Viktoras Pranckietis, Speaker of the Seimas; Gediminas Kirkilas, Deputy Speaker of the Seimas and Chairman of the Social Democratic Labour Party; Algirdas StonĨaitis, Chancellor of the Government and other political heavyweights.

You said Lithuania is an important country in the Baltic Sea and an important cooperative partner of China in Central and Eastern Europe. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties, bilateral relations have maintained a sound momentum of development. The two countries enjoy frequent high-level exchanges, constantly deepened political mutual trust, fruitful practical cooperation and increasingly deepening people-to-people and cultural exchanges. China is willing to work with Lithuania to actively promote the in-depth development of bilateral relations and the Belt and Road cooperation. Lithuania is a staunch supporter of China-Europe relations. China welcomes Lithuania to play a constructive role in China-Europe cooperation. The CPC attaches great importance to developing and establishing friendly relations with political parties in Lithuania, and is willing to continue to deepen inter-party exchanges and jointly promote the long-term, healthy and stable development of China-Lithuania relations.

The Lithuanian side said Lithuania attaches great importance to developing relations with China. In recent years, bilateral relations have enjoyed sound development and bilateral cooperation in agriculture, science and technology, logistics, infrastructure and other fields has been continuously deepened. Lithuania respects China's core interests and major concerns, and is willing to strengthen dialogue with China, keep closer exchanges at all levels, deepen pragmatic cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, push for more achievements and benefit the two countries and two peoples.
