Beijing, June 25th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with a cadre study group of the Colombia Liberal Party led by Camilo Sanchez, General Secretary of the Colombia Liberal Party.

Song appreciated Sanchez's visit to China with President of the Honourable Chamber of Deputies and senators as well as representatives as part of a high-level delegation of the Colombia Liberal Party, believing that this fully demonstrates the high importance Colombia Liberal Party attaches to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with the CPC. Song said that political parties are the source of national policy making. Both the CPC and Colombia Liberal Party have a long history. The CPC cherishes the traditional friendship with Colombia Liberal Party and is willing to continue to strengthen the friendly exchanges between the two Parties, deepen the exchange of experience in state governance and jointly push for the sustained and stable development of China-Colombia relations.

Sanchez said that through his visit to China, he was deeply aware of the great ruling achievements of the CPC and its firm determination to seek happiness for the people. The Colombia Liberal Party is willing to further strengthen exchanges and mutual learning with the CPC in the areas of party building and national development.

Song introduced the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, hoping to promote pragmatic cooperation between China and Colombia under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative on the basis of the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits. Sanchez appreciated the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by China, saying that it is a "China solution" focusing on the common development of the world, and that Colombia is willing to strengthen bilateral cooperation in this field.
