 ( 2019.07.10 )

Beijing, July 10th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation led by Buon Tan, President of France-China Friendship Group at the French National Assembly.

Song expressed that with strategic, contemporary and global characteristics, China-France relations are at the forefront of China’s relations with major Western countries. In recent year, China-France relations have always maintained high-level, sound and stable development. This year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. In March, President Xi Jinping paid a state visit to France, opening up a new chapter of China-France relations. As the ruling party makes both domestic and foreign policy of a country, strengthening the in-depth communication between ruling parties carries great significance to advancing relations between the two countries. The CPC is willing to, on the basis of seeking common grounds while reserving differences, mutual respect and mutual learning, work with various political parties in France including La République En Marche to jointly build a new type of relations between the ruling parties that meet the demands of the times and are conducive to the development of China-France relations.

Buon Tan spoke positively of China-France relations, especially the new outcomes of the exchanges among the political parties of the two countries in recent years, highly recognized the core leading role of the CPC in China and expressed that main political parties in the French National Assembly are willing to continuously stay committed to strengthening friendly exchanges with the CPC, in a bid to make new contributions to France-China relations.
