Tunis, July 26th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today respectively with Selim Azzabi, Secretary General of the Tahya Tounes Party and Rafik Abdessalem, Head of External Relations for the Ennahdha.

Song said that since the establishment of diplomatic ties 55 years ago, the two countries have always been good friends and partners of mutual trust and sincere cooperation. No matter how the situation changes, China-Tunisia friendship remains unchanged. We welcome the steady progress of Tunisia's transformation and development and believe that the Tunisian people will embark on a path of national stability, development and prosperity. Attaching great importance to developing the friendly and cooperative relations with the main political parties of Tunisia, the CPC is willing to strengthen the exchanges of experience and mutual learning in state governance and administration, establish a new type of political party relations featuring seeking common ground while putting aside differences, mutual respect, and mutual learning, and play a leading role in promoting the development of China-Tunisia relations and push for more practical results from the Belt and Road cooperation.

Song also introduced relevant situation of the education campaign of the CPC under the theme of “remaining true to the Party's original aspirations and keeping its mission firmly in mind”.

Azzabi said that the CPC's original aspirations and mission of seeking happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation of the Chinese nation are admirable. Deepening relations with the CPC has become the consensus of the Tahya Tounes Party. The Tahya Tounes Party hopes to take this visit as an opportunity to further strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation between the two Parties, give full play to the role of "locomotive" of inter-party exchanges and push forward Tunisia-China relations.

Abdessalem said that the CPC has made remarkable achievements in its 70 years of governance and set a good example for political parties in developing countries. The Ennahdha is willing to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties, deeply learn from the experience of the CPC in state governance and administration, and promote pragmatic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
