First Vice President of Iran Meets with Song Tao

Teheran, July 29th--Eshaq Jahangiri, First Vice President of Iran, met here today with Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.

Song said that China always views China-Iran relations from a strategic and long-term perspective and China's determination to develop China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership will not change due to the changing situation. The CPC is ready to enhance political mutual trust and strategic communication between China and Iran through inter-party channels and deepen China-Iran friendly cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. China is firmly committed to upholding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear issue and is ready to work with other parties to continue to fulfill its obligations under the JCPOA and play a constructive role in safeguarding regional peace and stability.

Jahangiri said that Iran regards China as an all-round cooperative partner and is willing to work with China to implement the Belt and Road cooperation agreement, deepen bilateral cooperation in all areas and consolidate the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Iran appreciates China's important role in international and regional affairs and safeguarding the JCPOA and is ready to strengthen strategic communication and bilateral and multilateral coordination with China.
