Vice President of Iran and Song Tao Visit Pardis Technology Park

On July 29th, Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, who was paying a visit in Iran, visited the Pardis Technology Park with Sorena Sattari, Vice President of Iran.

The Pardis Technology Park, which is located at Pardis, a satellite city with 25 km distance to the capital Tehran, is the biggest and the most important technology park in Iran, covering 38 hectares. It is called “the Silicon Valley in Iran”. There have been over 240 high-tech enterprises in the Park since its establishment in 2005.

Song expressed that technological cooperation is an important part in China-Iran relations, and that both sides have conducted fruitful exchanges and cooperation in such fields as science and technology parks, electronic information, biotechnology, health care and agriculture. It is hoped that both sides will make more achievements in terms of promoting bilateral cooperation on scientific and technological innovation, and make contributions to the continuous and stable development of China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership under the new situation where the new round of scientific and technological revolution is booming and the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative is making steady progress.

Sattari noted that the Iranian side highly values the technological cooperation with China and hopes to learn advanced experience from China on technological development and park construction. The Iranian side is willing to deepen bilateral cooperation on scientific and technological innovation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. The Iranian side will continue optimizing the scientific research and business environment of the Pardis Technology Park, and endeavoring to make it a technological and scientific park featuring advancement and comprehensiveness. The Iranian side welcomes and expects Chinese high-tech enterprises’ settlement in the Park.
