Teheran, July 30th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Mohammad Javad Zarif, Foreign Minister of Iran.

Song said that China and Iran are comprehensive strategic partners and China always views and develops China-Iran relations from a strategic and long-term perspective. Under the current circumstances, the CPC is willing to further enhance political mutual trust and strategic communication between China and Iran through inter-party channels, implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state and promote the sustained, healthy and steady development of China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership. China is firmly committed to upholding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and is ready to work with other parties to play a constructive role in safeguarding regional peace and stability.

Zarif said Iran regards China as an all-round cooperative partner and appreciates China's important role in international and regional affairs and safeguarding the JCPOA. Iran is willing to strengthen strategic communication and bilateral and multilateral coordination with China, consolidate and deepen the Iran-China comprehensive strategic partnership and safeguard the common interests of the two countries and multilateralism.
