Beijing, September 8th—Assistant Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Zhu Rui, met here today with Turkish Ambassador to China Abdülkadir Emin Önen.

Zhu spoke positively of China-Turkey relations and bilateral cooperation in fighting the epidemic, and expressed the willingness to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Turkey in 2021 as an opportunity to promote the development of bilateral relations through party-to-party channels, so as to further enrich the connotation of China-Turkey strategic cooperation. Combining with the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech at a symposium on economic and social work, Zhu also introduced Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

Önen said, Turkey attaches great importance to developing its relations with China. Turkey is willing to work with China to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, promote bilateral cooperation in various fields through strengthening the exchanges between the two governments and political parties in the two countries, and work together to elevate Turkey-China relations to a higher level.

Both sides also exchanged views on the regional situation and other issues. Zhu also gave an English version of the third volume of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China to Önen.
