Beijing, November 26th—The International Department of the CPC Central Committee held here today a briefing on the spirit of the sixth plenary session of 19th CPC Central Committee and a special dialogue between the CPC and political parties in Central and Eastern European Countries. Leaders of over 20 political parties from 15 Central and Eastern European Countries were present, including Piotr Zgorzelski, Secretary of the Supreme Executive Committee of the Polish People's Party and Vice-Marshal of the Polish Sejm, Milos Vucevic, Vice President of the Serbian Progressive Party; Florin ManoLe, Deputy Secretary General of Social Democratic Party of Romania, and Frano Matusic, State Seceretary of Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia

Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, comprehensively introduced the great historical significance of the sixth plenary session of 19th CPC Central Committee and the resolution adopted at the session. He said the Party established Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and defined the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, which is of decisive significance. Since the 18th CPC National Congress, General Secretary Xi Jinping, with extraordinary courage, put forward a series of strategic concept and innovative ideas, became the main founder of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and provided a scientific action guide for national rejuvenation. Under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, China reached new levels in economic strength, scientific and technological capability, and composite national strength. China continuously advanced modernization of China’s system and capacity for governance, injecting fresh vitality into the causes of the Party and the country.

Song said, while pursuing happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, the CPC has also contributed to human progress and world harmony. The combined impacts of major changes in the world situation and the COVID-19 pandemic, both unseen in a century, have taken the human society to a crossroads. The CPC is willing to, together with political parties in Central and Eastern European Countries, well implement the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and leaders of Central and Eastern European Countries, strengthen intra-party exchanges, take the 10th anniversary of the cooperation mechanism between China and Central and Eastern European Countries next year as an opportunity to push political mutual trust, consolidate solidarity and cooperation, focus on practical cooperation, deepen common interests, promote civilization exchanges, advance mutual learning, enhance people-to-people ties, promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, promote cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries for new fruits, and jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind.

Leaders of the Central and Eastern European Countries present warmly congratulated on the successful convening of the sixth plenary session of 19th CPC Central Committee, and spoke highly of China’s huge achievements made under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core including poverty alleviation, fighting the epidemic, economic and social development. They said cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries is a major part of EU-China relations. Under the new circumstances, China and Central and Eastern European Countries enjoy expanding common interests. Promoting our cooperation conforms to the common interests of both sides. They expressed the willingness to, together with the CPC, strengthen communication in state governance and administration, and boost cooperation in fighting the pandemic, the Belt and Road Initiative and climate change, so as to better realize common development.
