Liu said, since China and Ethiopia established diplomatic relations over half a century ago, our traditional friendship has become stronger as time goes by. In recent years, under the care and promotion of General Secretary Xi Jinping and President of the PP Abiy Ahmed, China-Ethiopia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership has enjoyed in-depth development. Exchanges between the ruling parties constitute an important part of China-Ethiopia relations. The CPC is willing to, together with the PP, implement the important consensus of the top leaders of the two Parties, advance institutionalized exchanges, carry out communication and discussion on issues of common concern such as the training of cadres, party building, and poverty alleviation, promote the better integration of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the Ten-Year Development Plan of Ethiopia, and implement the outcomes of the 8th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, so as to push China-Ethiopia and China-Africa relations to higher levels. The Chinese side firmly supports Ethiopia’s efforts in defending national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and will continue to support the people of Ethiopia in realizing national peace, stability, development and prosperity.

Liu introduced the CPC’s ruling concept and achievements in the new era. He said, since the 18th CPC National Congress, the CPC Central Committee with comrade Xi Jinping at the core has taken into account the Chinese nation’s great rejuvenation and major changes unseen in a century in the world, built China into a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and embarked on a new journey toward building a modern socialist country. In the second half of the year, the CPC will hold the 20th CPC National Congress. The Chinese side is willing to inform friendly political parties from Africa, including the PP, of the relevant situation of the 20th CPC National Congress when it comes to an end, to promote experience exchanges and mutual learning about state governance and administration between both sides.

Adem, on behalf of the PP, spoke highly of the remarkable achievements the Chinese people made under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with comrade Xi Jinping at the core, and thanked the Chinese side’s huge support and help in areas such as infrastructure construction and the fight against the epidemic. He appreciated the Chinese side’s objective and just position on supporting Ethiopia in safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity and on regional and international affairs. The PP is willing to work with the Chinese side to implement the important consensus of General Secretary Xi Jinping and President Abiy Ahmed, enhance dialogues between the two Parties, advance the cooperation between the two countries in the joint construction of the BRI, and cooperation under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, to achieve greater development of relations between the two countries. The PP congratulated on the upcoming 101th anniversary of the CPC, and wished the 20th CPC National Congress a complete success.
