Liu Jianchao Holds a Group Meeting with Representatives of Major Philippine Media Outlets

Manila, August 28th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, held a group meeting here today with leaders and journalists of major Philippine media outlets. A total of 21 representatives from 15 media outlets attended the meeting, including the Philippine News Agency, Philippine Star, Philippine Daily Inquirer, the Manila Times, Manila Bulletin, CNN PHILIPPINES, SMNI, ABS-CBN Corporation, GMA Network, Shangbao, United News and World News.

Liu elaborated on China's principled position of developing China-Philippines relations. He hoped the political parties, governments, media, and all sectors of society of both sides will strengthen communication and cooperation, jointly implement the important consensus of President Xi Jinping and President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos, deepen practical cooperation in various areas, properly control and address relevant differences, jointly open the "golden era" of China-Philippines relations, benefit the two countries and two peoples, and actively contribute to regional peace, stability, development and prosperity.

Liu also introduced China's peaceful development, the Taiwan question, the South China Sea issue, regional situations, the external exchanges of the CPC, China-Philippines cooperation in agriculture, energy, infrastructure construction, maritime cooperation, and personnel exchanges against the background of the epidemic at request.
