Zhu Rui Meets with Omer Siddig, Newly-appointed Sudanese Ambassador to China

Beijing, March 2nd—Zhu Rui, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the morning with Omer Siddig, newly-appointed Sudanese Ambassador to China at request.

Zhu welcomed Siddig's assumption of the new post in China, and spoke highly of China-Sudan relations. He said that the two countries have always supported each other on issues involving core interests and major concerns. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Sudanese side to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen inter-party exchanges and cooperation, and promote the comprehensive development of China-Sudan relations. Zhu also mainly briefed on the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and the theory of a Chinese path to modernization.

Siddig congratulated on the successful convening of the 20th CPC National Congress and wished the “two sessions” of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference a complete success. Siddig highly evaluated the great development achievements made by the Chinese people under the leadership of the CPC, thanked the Chinese side for its strong support to developing countries including Sudan on international occasions such as the United Nations Security Council, and emphasized Sudan's firm support to the One China principle. It is hoped that both sides can strengthen exchanges at all levels, deepen cooperation in various fields, and promote greater development of Sudan-China relations.
