Liu Jianchao Meets with Pradeep Kumar Rawat, Indian Ambassador to China

Beijing, April 12th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Pradeep Kumar Rawat, Indian Ambassador to China.

Liu stated that China and India are ancient civilizations, neighboring countries, and major emerging economies. The healthy and stable relationship between China and India is not only in line with the fundamental interests of both countries and their peoples, but also conducive to the peace and development of the region and the world. Both sides should implement the important consensus reached by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, continue to have dialogues, properly handle and manage differences, and work together to address global challenges. The CPC is willing to strengthen exchanges and deepen political mutual trust, and promote practical cooperation with Indian political parties, so as to promote bilateral relations to move forward on a right track.

Pradeep Kumar Rawat expressed that as two ancient civilizations, China and India have a history of friendly exchanges spanning thousands of years. As the current world is undergoing profound changes unseen in a century, the relationship between India and China is not only crucial for the two countries but also for the future of Asia and the world. The Indian side is willing to work with the Chinese side to implement important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, properly handle differences, and improve bilateral relations. The Embassy of India in China is also willing to actively promote inter-party exchanges and cooperation between India and China.
