General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and Global Civilization Initiative, and has led China to comprehensively promote Chinese modernization through high-quality development, which will provide more development opportunities for countries around the world, including Sri Lanka. At present, China and Sri Lanka are promoting the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) together, which will bring more benefits to the two peoples. The Chinese side appreciates the Sri Lankan side's firm adherence to the one-China principle, and will continue to firmly support Sri Lanka's efforts in safeguarding national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and will play an active role in helping Sri Lanka get out of economic difficulties at an early date.

Liu said, exchanges between political parties of China and Sri Lanka have become an important support for the friendship of the two countries in the new era, and friendship with China is the consensus of all parties of Sri Lanka. The CPC is willing to work with all political parties of Sri Lanka to continuously deepen and consolidate traditional friendship, strengthen exchanges and mutual learning, promote practical cooperation, and contribute to the development of China-Sri Lanka strategic cooperative partnership featuring sincere mutual assistance and enduring friendship.

Calling China a great friend of Sri Lanka, Chanaka expressed that the Sri Lankan side attaches great importance to developing Sri Lanka-China relations. General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative at the right time, charting the course for all countries in the world to unite and cooperate to jointly cope with challenges. The Sri Lankan side appreciates the Chinese side's long-term strong support for Sri Lanka's economic and social development, especially the unconditional help when Sri Lanka needed help the most. Sri Lanka is deeply grateful for that. Inter-party exchanges are an important part of Sri Lanka-China relations. At present, Sri Lanka is gradually recovering from the economic crisis. All political parties of Sri Lanka are willing to further learn the experience of state governance and party governance from the CPC, especially in poverty alleviation and party building, and promote cooperation in various fields under the framework of the BRI between the two countries, so as to play an active role in speeding up the recovery of Sri Lanka and inject more impetus into the continuous development of Sri Lanka-China relations.
