“Contemporary World Forum: Harmony for Shared Prosperity” Held in Nanning

The “Contemporary World Forum: Harmony for Shared Prosperity” was held in Nanning, Guangxi from April 26th to 27th. The forum was co-hosted by the second bureau of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), the international exchange center of the IDCPC, China Economic Cooperation Center and Contemporary World Magazine, and organized by Guangxi University. Zhu Rui, Assistant-minister of the IDCPC, attended the event and delivered a keynote speech. Liao Pinhu, Vice Chairman of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, addressed the forum. Guests from home and abroad, including Wang Naixue, Vice Chairman of CPPCC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee and Secretary of the CPC Guangxi University Committee, Suos Yara, First Vice Chairman of the External Relations Commission of the Cambodian People’s Party, N.Enkhbaatar, Member of the Party Board and the Secretary of the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) and the First Secretary of MPP, Ma. Alana Samantha T. Santos, Member of House of Representatives and Deputy Secretary General of Lakas-CMD of the Philippines, and Loh Wee Keng, Chairman of Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, made keynote addresses. Liu Zhengdong, former Vice Chairman of CPPCC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee and Director of China-ASEAN Collaborative Innovation Center for Regional Development Co-constructed by the Province and Ministry, presided over the opening ceremony. Discussions by the Chinese and foreign guests revolved around topics such as the value and international significance of the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping, deepening the practical cooperation between China and its neighboring countries in various fields, and opening a new chapter of building a community with a shared future between China and its neighbors. About 500 participants attended the forum, including leading officials from General Office of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Qiushi Journal, Xinhua News Agency, China Institute of International Studies, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, and China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, guests of political parties, think tanks, media, business circles and representatives of international students from more than 30 countries. During the forum, sub-forums for political parties, think tanks, media, business circles and the youth centering on topics like “strengthening exchanges and mutual learning to enhance people’s wellbeing”, “advocating mutual learning among civilizations to build a community with a shared future for mankind”, “promoting exchanges among civilizations for common development”, and “bringing together the power of youth to promote mutual learning among civilizations” were held. Besides, cultural exchange activities for Chinese and foreign youth, and activities for guests to experience traditional Chinese culture were also held. Zhu Rui and Suos Yara witnessed the signing of the framework agreement for cooperation in publishing the Contemporary World (Cambodian Edition). Enditem |
