Guo positively spoke of the relationship between China and Malta and the exchanges between the two Parties. He expressed that the 20th CPC National Congress held last year has outlined a grand blueprint for China's future development. We are advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization. We are willing to deepen strategic integration with Malta, promote cooperation in scientific and technological innovation, enhance people-to-people bond, strengthen international collaboration, deepen exchanges between our two Parties, and promote the healthy and stable development of China-Malta relations and China-European Union relations.

Tanti recalled his visit to China at the invitation of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee in 2015. He expressed that Malta has a robust relationship with China and the Malta Labour Party has maintained friendly exchanges with the CPC for a long time. The Maltese side is willing to continue strengthening bilateral relations and inter-party exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese side. Tanti also noted that President Xi Jinping emphasized that innovation will remain at the heart of China's modernization drive in his report to the 20th CPC National Congress. The Maltese side hopes to further strengthen cooperation in science, technology, innovation and other fields, to promote development of Malta-China relations and European Union-China relations.
