11th UK-China Senior Leadership Forum Held in the UK

London, June 20th—The 11th UK-China Senior Leadership Forum was held here today. The two sides conducted candid, open, in-depth, and constructive exchanges on the theme of “UK and China: Re-connecting Political Parties for a Constructive Relationship in a Changing World”. Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the Forum and delivered a keynote speech. About 40 representatives from both sides were present, including Zheng Zeguang, Chinese Ambassador to the UK, members of Chinese ministries and local governments, Anne-Marie Trevelyan, Minister of State in the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, David Lidington, Honorary President of the Great Britain-China Centre (GBCC) and former Minister for the Cabinet Office, and representatives from the UK government, parliament, the Conservative Party, the Labour Party, local governments, and the business sector.

Both sides believed that maintaining China-UK relations serves the common interests of the peoples of our two countries, and is of great significance to the world. China and the UK must enhance mutual understanding, adhere to win-win cooperation, promote common development, shoulder responsibility, and jointly respond to global challenges. The two sides agreed to hold the next forum in due course.
