Beijing, January 22nd—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation led by Luvsannyam Gantumur, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Mongolia.

Calling China and Mongolia important neighbors to each other, Liu said China has always viewed China-Mongolia relations from a strategic perspective. President Xi Jinping and President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh have met for many times and reached important consensus on building together a China-Mongolia community with a shared future, charting the course for further developing relations between the two countries. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mongolia, the 30th anniversary of the signing of the China-Mongolia Friendship and Cooperation Treaty, and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership. The two sides should jointly implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, consolidate political mutual trust, continue to firmly support each other's core interests and major concerns, expand practical cooperation between the two countries in economy, trade, people-to-people and cultural engagement and the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and make China-Mongolia relations more stable, closer, and more mutually beneficial, as well as promote regional peace and development.

Liu said, the CPC and the Democratic Party of Mongolia have maintained a friendly cooperative relationship for long, and played an important role in promoting the healthy and stable development of China-Mongolia relations. The Chinese side appreciates the important support from the Democratic Party of Mongolia on issues involving the Chinese side's core interests. China respects Mongolia's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and respects the development path chosen by the Mongolian people. Under the new situation, we are willing to maintain exchanges at all levels with the Democratic Party of Mongolia, strengthen experience exchanges and mutual learning in party building and state governance, intensify exchanges between youth and women, support social organizations and media organizations of both side in strengthening cooperation, facilitate practical cooperation and people-to-people bonds between the two countries, and promote the building of a China-Mongolia community with a shared future.

Gantumur said, Mongolia and China are good neighbors and good partners. Developing relations with China is a priority direction of Mongolia's foreign policy. I was deeply impressed by President Xi Jinping's historic visit to Mongolia 10 years ago. China is Mongolia's largest trading partner. Currently, cooperation between the two countries in economy, trade, ports, infrastructure, and desertification prevention and control has made positive results, bringing tangible benefits to the two peoples. The Democratic Party of Mongolia attaches great importance to developing friendly relations with the CPC, adheres to friendship with China, firmly adheres to the one-China principle, and resolutely opposes other countries' interference in China's internal affairs. It is willing to work with the CPC to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and deepen experience exchanges in party building and state governance, promote practical cooperation in various fields, and strive to constantly elevate China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership.

S. Odontuya, Vice Chairwoman of the State Great Hural, Mongolia's Parliament, Tuvshin Badral, Mongolian Ambassador to China, and others were present.
