Liu Jianchao Meets with Khalil-ur-Rahman Hashmi, Pakistani Ambassador to China

Beijing, February 27th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Khalil-ur-Rahman Hashmi, Pakistani Ambassador to China.    


Liu said, under the leadership of the leaders of the two countries, China-Pakistan relations have maintained high-level development momentum in recent years. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Pakistani side to implement the important consensus of leaders of the two countries, well plan China-Pakistan cooperation for the next stage, boost Pakistan's economic reform and development through the high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, deepen China-Pakistan cultural exchanges, promote exchanges in various areas such as political parties, parliaments, locality, think tanks, media, youth, etc. inherit the traditional friendship between China and Pakistan, enhance coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs, and jointly promote peace and development of the region and the world at large.   

Hashmi said, Pakistan-China relations serve as a model of state-to-state relations. The Pakistani side is willing to work with the Chinese side to fully promote the construction of the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor. It always firmly supports the Chinese side's position on issues involving China's core interests, and is always China's trustworthy friend. The Pakistani side speaks highly of China's world-renowned development achievements, China's sharing of opportunities with the world, and providing the international community with public goods such as the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the three major global initiatives, from which Pakistan's economic and social development has benefited. The Pakistani side is willing to work with the Chinese side to jointly safeguard international and regional peace and stability.
