Liu Jianchao Meets with Leaders of Political Parties in Malaysia's Ruling Coalition

Kuala Lumpur, March 28th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with leaders of political parties of Malaysias ruling coalition, including Chang Lih Kang, Vice President of the People's Justice Party (PKR) and Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation of Malaysia, Tiong King Sing, President of Malaysia's Progressive Democratic Party and Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, and Wee Ka Siong, President of the Malaysian Chinese Association.


The two sides believed that under the joint guidance of President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, bilateral relations have been upgraded and entered a new era of building a community with a shared future. The two sides should take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to strengthen strategic communication and experience exchanges and mutual learning in state governance and administration, and enhance mutual understanding and trust. The two sides should deepen and expand cooperation in various fields, especially strengthen cooperation in science and technology innovation, to provide impetus for economic and social development of the two countries. The two sides should make good use of the benefits of visa exemption between China and Malaysia, strengthen cooperation in tourism and cultural exchanges, and promote objective understanding among people, including different ethnic groups. Both sides should give full play to the positive guiding role of the media and create a good atmosphere for friendly cooperation between the two countries. The two sides agreed to further strengthen inter-party exchanges to contribute to the development of bilateral relations.
