Beijing, April 8th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with a delegation led by Félix Ulloa, Leader of the Nuevas Ideas Party of El Salvador and Vice President-elect.

Liu said, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and El Salvador, both countries have continuously deepened political mutual trust, expanded economic and trade cooperation, and intensified people-to-people and cultural exchanges, rapidly elevating the level of bilateral relations. In 2019, President Xi Jinping held a successful meeting with President Nayib Bukele during his visit to China, drawing a blueprint for China-El Salvador relations. The Chinese side regards the Salvadoran side as an important and trustworthy partner, and is willing to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen the alignment of the two countries' development strategies, promote practical cooperation in various fields for greater development, and jointly build a model of mutual respect between big and small countries, solidarity and cooperation among developing countries, and exchanges and mutual learning among different civilizations. The Chinese side appreciates the Salvadoran side's firm adherence to the one-China principle, and supports the Salvadoran side in safeguarding sovereignty and independence and choosing its own development path.

Liu said, the CPC and the Nuevas Ideas Party are both ruling parties, and both face the tasks of improving governance capabilities, promoting national development, and improving people's well-being. The CPC is willing to strengthen high-level exchanges with the Nuevas Ideas Party, carry out experience exchanges in party building and state governance in an in-depth way, enhance mutual understanding, promote exchanges and cooperation between the counterpart departments of the two Parties, think tanks, and media, and promote the sustained, healthy and stable development of China-El Salvador relations.

The Salvadoran side spoke highly of the great achievements made by the Chinese people in areas such as economy, science and technology under the leadership of the CPC, and thanked the Chinese side for its selfless support and help for El Salvador's development. China's successful development model and experience are worth learning for El Salvador. The Nuevas Ideas Party is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the CPC at all levels and in all fields, and deepen exchanges on issues such as democratic construction, state governance and administration, combating crime and corruption and sustainable development, so as to continuously promote El Salvador-China relations for new development.
