"Studying the Party's and country's history is a compulsory course in upholding and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics" was a speech delivered by Comrade Xi Jinping when he presided over the seventh group study session of the Political Bureau of the 18th CPC Central committee on June 25th, 2013. Xi noted that studying the Party's and country's history and is a compulsory course in upholding and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics and pushing forward the causes of the Party and country. We should not only study it, but study it well. Xi stressed that in order to uphold and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics under the new historical conditions, we must adhere to our own path, conform to the general trend of the world, and represent the fundamental interests of the general public. We must enhance the Party's self-improvement and remain firmly confident in socialism with Chinese characteristics.
