Song mainly introduced the spirit of the fifth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee. He said, the session fully acknowledged the decisive achievements China has made in economic and social development under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core in China's 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), adopted the proposals for the formulation of  the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) for National Economic and Social Development and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035, drew an  impressive blueprint for China’s future development and answered questions such as how China and the world will achieve common development. It provides endless impetus for China’s development in the future, as well as more opportunities for a vast number of developing countries including Zimbabwe. Song also briefed on the main content of the Third Volume of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China and the third China International Import Expo.

Song stressed, President Xi Jinping and President Emmerson Mnangagwa attach high importance to the development of China-Zimbabwe comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. They exchanged congratulatory messages on the first half of the year on the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and attended together the Extraordinary China-Africa Summit on Solidarity against COVID-19. In today's world, the global pandemic and the changes unseen in a century are affecting the human society in a profound manner, making global challenges more complex. The Chinese side appreciates ZANU–PF’s positive results and success in containing the pandemic, and is willing to, together with the Zimbabwean side, further strengthen high-level dialogues and strategic communication, implement together the important consensus reached between the top leaders of the two parties and two countries, give full play to the features and strengths of intra-party exchanges, and promote cooperation between the two countries in areas including economy and trade. The Chinese side is willing to help the Zimbabwean side make good use of development opportunities of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan, and build together an even stronger China-Africa community with a shared future.

Chinamasa warmly congratulated on the successful convening of the fifth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, spoke highly of the achievements China has made under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, thanked the Chinese side for the significant help for Zimbabwe’s fight in combating the pandemic and Zimbabwe’s economic and social development. Chinamasa said, ZANU–PF cherishes its brotherly relations with the CPC, and is willing to learn the experience in state governance and administration, particularly the experience in poverty alleviation from the CPC, and push both sides to deepen cooperation in areas such as infrastructure, transportation, and information communication. The Zimbabwean side will continue to resolutely follow the One China policy, firmly support the Chinese side in safeguarding its core interests, and is willing to work with the Chinese side to safeguard multilateralism and promote peace and development in the region and the world at large.

Li Mingxiang, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, chaired the opening ceremony of the webinar. Guo Shaochun, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe, was present.
