On the morning of June 30th, Li Jun, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, had telephone conversation via videolink with Pedro Miguel González, Secretary General of Panama's Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD).

Speaking positively of relations between the two parties and the two countries as well as sound cooperation in COVID-19 response between both sides, Li mainly briefed on China’s practices and experience in pandemic prevention and control and China’s active engagement in international anti-pandemic cooperation, saying that the CPC attaches importance to the traditional friendly relations with the PRD, and is willing to deepen exchanges of experience in state governance and administration, in a bid to build a China-Latin American community of health.

González congratulated the CPC on its 99th anniversary, and spoke highly of China’s contributions to international efforts in fighting against the virus. Expressing gratitude to China for its support and assistance in Panama’s COVID-19 containment, González expressed the readiness to continue to enhance exchanges between the PRD and the CPC, so as to elevate Panama-China relations to new highs.
