Guo Yezhou Attends Video Conference on Global Industrial Cooperation and Belt and Road Cooperation amid COVID-19

On the morning of July 10th, Guo Yezhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) and Co-Chairman of the Council of the Silk Road Think Tank Association (SRTA) attended a video conference on global industrial cooperation and Belt and Road cooperation in the face of COVID-19 and addressed the opening ceremony. Guests attending the event also included Luo Juan, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of Guangdong Provincial People's Congress; Bhokin Bhalakula, former President of Thai National Assembly; and Ong Tee keat, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malaysian Parliament.

Speaking highly of China’s achievements in COVID-19 response and its important role in international anti-pandemic cooperation, all attendees expressed the readiness to further enhance communication and exchanges within the SRTA to jointly promote international industrial cooperation and high-quality of Belt and Road cooperation.

The conference, guided by the Silk Road Think Tank Association and co-organized by China Center for Contemporary World Studies of the IDCPC, and Guangdong Institute for International Strategies, was attended by nearly 30 people from Japan, the Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, French Polynesia and other countries and regions as well as from domestic universities, and think tanks. All participants had in-depth exchanges on the impact of COVID-19 on the global industrial chain and countermeasures, international cooperation after COVID-19 and domestic and industrial double cycles, and the methods and paths for the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation in the post-pandemic era.
