Li Mingxiang Attends Opening Ceremony of Online Cadre Training Class of the People's Movement for Progress (MPP) of Burkina Faso

Beijing, July 23th—Li Mingxiang, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), attended here the opening ceremony of an online cadre training class of the People's Movement for Progress (MPP) of Burkina Faso and delivered a speech via videolink. On behalf of IDCPC Minister Song Tao and the IDCPC, Li congratulated the opening of the training class, saying that China is willing to work with Burkina Faso to well implement the results of the Extraordinary China-Africa Summit on Solidarity Against COVID-19, enhance anti-epidemic cooperation and exchanges of experience in state governance and administration, and build an even stronger China-Africa community with a shared future.

Li introduced China's position on such issues as the national security legislation for Hong Kong and the South China Sea, and promoted the third volume of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China. He said that the third volume vividly records the great praxis of the CPC Central Committee of the Communist Party of China with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core that has rallied and led the whole Party and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups to push for new breakthroughs in the undertakings of the Party and the state since the 19th CPC National Congress, further enriching and developing the CPC’s theoretical innovations.

MPP President Simon Compaoré spoke highly of President Xi Jinping’s proposals at the Extraordinary China-Africa Summit on Solidarity Against COVID-19, and thanked China for sharing anti-epidemic experience with Burkina Faso and providing anti-epidemic supplies at the earliest possible time. He expressed willingness to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties to promote the development of China-Burkina Faso relations. Compaoré said that Burkina Faso adheres to the One China policy, supports China's position on issues related to Hong Kong, the South China Sea and other issues, and opposes interference by countries outside the region in South China Sea affairs.

After the opening ceremony, the two sides conducted special exchanges on such topics as coordinating epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development, carrying out international cooperation in epidemic prevention and control, poverty alleviation, and China-Africa poverty reduction.
