Beijing, September 28th—the China-Indonesia Belt and Road Political Parties Joint Consultation Mechanism between the Communist Party of China (CPC) and main political parties of Indonesia was established. The first meeting of the mechanism was held via videolink with the theme of "building the belt and road initiative and promoting economy and people’s livelihood". Song said, Indonesia has always been a friendly neighbor and important partner of China. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, China and Indonesia have looked out for each other and battled the virus together. In particular, since the start of this year, General Secretary Xi Jinping and President Joko Widodo have made three calls and reached an important consensus on the cooperation between the two countries to fight the pandemic and pep up economic recovery. Our meeting today is to earnestly implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, and further China-Indonesia relations from a new starting point. Firstly, we should lead the direction of cooperation through friendly consultation; secondly, we should deepen pragmatic cooperation and promote innovative development; thirdly, we should focus on win-win cooperation and establish a good example of cooperation; fourthly, we should uphold multilateralism and promote solidarity and cooperation. Under the new circumstances, deepening cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative is the common aspiration and an important task of the Chinese and Indonesian political parties. The two sides should continue to promote policy communication and mutual learning, guide synergy between development strategies and innovative cooperation, jointly uphold the international system with the United Nations at the core, and promote high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative through inter-party exchanges to achieve more fruitful outcomes and better benefit the people in two countries.

Song also emphatically introduced the main content of the third volume of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China.

The leaders of political parties congratulated the People’s Republic of China on the 71st anniversary of its founding and thanked China for its assistance to Indonesia in fighting COVID-19. In particular, the vaccine cooperation has become a new highlight in bilateral cooperation against the pandemic. Over the past 70 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and China, bilateral relations have been constantly upgraded. Especially since the two heads of state reached the important consensus on the bilateral cooperation and the Belt and Road Initiative, the areas of cooperation have been expanding and fruitful results have been yielded in building the Belt and Road Initiative, delivering tangible benefits to the two peoples. Political parties in Indonesia are looking forward to strengthen the exchanges of experience and mutual learning in state governance and administration with the CPC. It is hoped that through inter-party exchanges, bilateral trade, investment, cultural cooperation, and regional cooperation under the Belt and Road framework will be deepened and consolidated, making new progress in the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Indonesia strongly opposes unilateralism and bullying, and stands ready to work with China to uphold the basic norms of international relations, safeguard regional peace and stability, and build a community with a shared future for mankind.

Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Xiao Qian attended the video meeting and Guo Yezhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee presided over the meeting.
