Wang Yajun Attends 2020 International Conference on Emergency Management Innovation

Beijing, December 4th—Wang Yajun, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), attended here today on the morning the 2020 International Conference on Emergency Management Innovation and delivered a keynote speech titled "Joining Hands to Build a Safe Environment for the Belt and Road Cooperation Against the Backdrop of Major Changes and the Pandemic."

In his speech, Wang introduced the tremendous achievements of the Belt and Road cooperation over the past seven years, and analyzed the current security risks and challenges confronting the Belt and Road cooperation. He called on all parties to pool security consensus, strengthen pragmatic cooperation, enhance people-to-people bonds, and improve the security system to create a sound and safe environment for the high-quality development of the Belt and Road cooperation. He also emphasized that the comprehensive plan for China's development during the 14th Five-Year period and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035, which are made and proposed at the fifth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, are China's action plan for its own development and the Chinese solution to development problems and promoting international cooperation under the new situation, which will surely bring new opportunities for the Belt and Road cooperation to overcome various risks and challenges and achieve high-quality development.

The conference was co-organized by 6 institutions including the IDCPC and the Party School of the CPC Central Committee (National Academy of Governance), with the theme of "Actively Promoting the Modernization of Emergency Management System and Capabilities". More than 160 representatives from home and abroad attended the conference online or offline, and conducted in-depth exchanges on the research of risk governance of countries along the Belt and Road.
