Beijing, December 16th—Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, held a conversation via videolink with Tsvetomir Paynov, Administrative Secretary of the Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB), during which Qian briefed Paynov on the spirit of the fifth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee.

Qian mainly briefed on the background, significance and important results of the fifth plenary session, and emphasized that China has entered a new stage of development, implemented new development concepts, accelerated the construction of a new development paradigm, and implemented a high-level opening-up to the outside world, which will surely provide new opportunities for the development of China-Bulgaria relations. The CPC is willing to deepen friendly exchanges with the GERB, and jointly promote the continuous and in-depth development of China-Bulgaria relations, the Belt and Road cooperation and the "17+1 cooperation" under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Paynov congratulated China on its great success in coordinating epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development. He spoke highly of the future development plan adopted at the fifth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and believed that under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, China will surely achieve faster and better development. The GERB is willing to strengthen the exchange of experience in state governance and administration with the CPC and contribute to the development of Bulgaria-China relations.
