Beijing, December 22nd—The International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) held here today the Symposium on Achievements in Cuba’s Socialist Revolution and Construction and Celebration on the 60th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations. Shen Beili, Vice-minister of the IDCPC, and Carlos Miguel Pereira, Cuban Ambassador to China, attended and addressed the symposium. Experts and scholars from the IDCPC, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, Renmin University of China and other relevant organizations were present.

Shen reviewed the relations between the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations 60 years ago and spoke highly of the achievements in Cuba’s socialist revolution and construction. Shen also expressed that the CPC is willing to, together with the Cuban Communist Party (PCC), enhance exchanges on state governance and administration, strength mutual learning, and bring the special friendship between the two countries to a new level.

Pereira emphatically briefed on the achievements in the socialist construction with Cuban characteristics and the main tasks of the Cuban government, and said that the Cuban side is willing to take the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to constantly deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two parties, so as to promote Cuba-China relations for continuous and stable development.
