Beijing, January 27th—Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the morning with Jan Hoogmartens, Belgian Ambassador to China.

Qian spoke positively of China-Belgium relations and China-Europe relations, and said that the CPC is willing to further advance friendly exchanges with major political parties of Belgium, enhance understanding, promote cooperation and jointly push China-Belgium and China-Europe relations for continuous and sound development.

Jan Hoogmartens said Belgium attaches high importance to relations with China. Belgium is willing to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to further intensify high-level exchanges and cooperation in all areas, and continue to push Belgium-China relations to new highs.
