Beijing, January 29th—Zhu Rui, Assistant Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, held a video conference here today on the afternoon with Gebran Bassil, Chairman of the Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) of Lebanon.

Zhu spoke positively of the relations between the two parties and countries and the anti-epidemic cooperation between China and Lebanon, saying that the CPC is willing to further deepen exchanges and mutual learning with the FPM on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Lebanon, support each other's core interests and promote pragmatic cooperation between the two countries through inter-party channels. Zhu also highlighted the experience of the CPC's centenary achievements, the spirit of the fifth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and the spirit of the special address by President Xi Jinping at the World Economic Forum Virtual Event of the Davos Agenda.

Basil congratulated the Chinese people on their great success in coordinating epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development under the leadership of the CPC, and stressed that the FPM is willing to strengthen exchanges with the CPC, fully tap the potential of bilateral cooperation, promote the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and jointly make positive contributions to the development of Lebanon-China relations.
