Beijing, February 2nd—The opening ceremony of the webinar on celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the two parties co-organized by the CPC and the South African Communist Party (SACP) is held here today. Li Mingxiang, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and Solly Afrika Mapaila, SACP First Deputy General Secretary attended and addressed the webinar. Chinese experts and nearly 70 senior officials from South Africa attended the event via videolink.

In his speech, Li introduced the achievements and main experience of the CPC under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core since its establishment 100 years ago, especially since the 18th CPC National Congress, and the beautiful vision of the CPC to build on this achievement to embark on a new journey of comprehensively building a modern socialist country. Speaking positively of the SACP’s contributions to the development of China-South Africa relations, Li expressed the CPC’s willingness to work with the SACP to take the opportunity of celebrating the centennial of the two parties to plan and implement a series of activities for the centennial of the founding of the two parties, improve the level of institutionalized exchanges, deepen experience exchanges and mutual learning, and continue to understand and support each other and work together to usher in a new era of cooperation between the two parties to make greater contributions to the cause of human progress.

Mapaila said in his speech that the glory of the CPC over the past century and the extraordinary achievements of socialism with Chinese characteristics have fully proved the truthfulness of Marxism and the strong vitality of socialism, which has greatly encouraged the development of socialism in Africa and the world. The SACP is full of confidence in the future of the two parties and is willing to continue to learn from China’s experience, and carry out a series of activities to celebrate the centennial of the founding of the two parties with China, deepen cooperation in pandemic response, party building, and poverty alleviation, and promote the better development of respective socialist causes.
