Beijing, March 30th—the China-Arab Young Leaders Forum hosted by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee was held here today via video link. Mohammed Ishtaye, Member of the Fatah Central Committee and Palestinian Prime Minister delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the forum via video link. Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee; Wang Hongyan, Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and President of the All-China Youth Federation; Samira Chaouachi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Heart of Tunisia and First Vice-Speaker of the House of People's Representatives of Tunisia; and Basilah, Mohsen Basurra，member of Yemeni Islah Party，Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of Yemen attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Leaders, young statesmen and youth representatives of more than 60 political parties and political organizations from 17 Arab countries attended the opening ceremony.

Song said that General Secretary Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the successful Extraordinary Meeting of China-Arab States Political Parties Dialogue held in June last year, stressing that the two parties should strengthen strategic communication, deepen experience exchanges in state governance and administration and make unremitting efforts to build a China-Arab community with a shared future in the new era and realize the great rejuvenation of the two great nations. Many political leaders from Arab countries hope to strengthen China-Arab friendship, especially exchanges between the two young peoples. The establishment of the China-Arab States Young Leaders Forum is an important measure to implement the consensus reached by the Chinese and Arab leaders and will play a positive role in deepening China-Arab friendly cooperation and promoting the building of a China-Arab community with a shared future. It is hoped that the young leaders of China and Arab countries will actively carry forward the traditional friendship, promote China-Arab cooperation and uphold international equity and justice so as to contribute to the great rejuvenation of the two great nations.

Song said that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and the achievements made by the CPC over the past 100 years also embody the enthusiasm and dedication of the young people. Adhering to the people-centered governance philosophy, the CPC has led the Chinese people to create a miracle of rapid economic development and long-term social stability, and won a great victory in poverty alleviation, which effectively guaranteed the people's rights to subsistence and development. China is committed to the path of peaceful development and will be an active builder of world peace, contributor of global development and defender of the international order. It is hoped that the young Chinese and Arab leaders will go hand in hand and jointly oppose hegemonism and oppression against the Chinese and Arab peoples. Song also announced the official launch of the essay contest "The Communist Party of China in My Eyes" for the young people in Arab countries.

Mohammed Ishtaye and other leaders of the Arab political party warmly congratulated on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, spoke highly of the successful development path the Chinese people have pioneered under the leadership of the CPC, appreciated China's great achievements in epidemic prevention and control, poverty alleviation and other aspects, and held that China's successful experience has important reference significance for other countries in the world. The Arab side appreciated China's constructive role in safeguarding the security of the Middle East, and expressed that it would continue to firmly support China's position on issues related to Xinjiang and Hong Kong, resolutely oppose some countries interfering in other countries' internal affairs under the pretext of human rights. The Arab side looks forward to strengthening mutual learning and the experience exchanges in party governance and state administration with the CPC, especially strengthening the friendly exchanges between the two young leaders, and deepen China-Arab pragmatic cooperation such as the Belt and Road Initiative cooperation, so as to jointly promote world peace and development.

Executive Secretary Wang Hongyan introduced the work related to young people of the CPC. Zhu Rui, Assistant Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee presided over the opening ceremony.
