Beijing, April 6th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) held a video talk with Fazle Rabbi Miah, Senior Leader of Bangladesh Awami League and Deputy Speaker of Bangladesh Parliament.

Song expressed, China and Bangladesh are traditional friendly neighbors and important development partners. In recent years, under the joint guidance of the top leaders of the two countries and two parties, China-Bangladesh strategic partnership of cooperation has made solid strides. Since the onset of the Covid-19, the two parties and the two peoples have helped each other, further deepening the traditional friendship. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the CPC and the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025). At present, Bangladesh is forging ahead towards the dream of “Golden Bangladesh”, with its economy growing quickly. The prospects for friendly cooperation between the two nations are broadening. The CPC stands ready to strengthen strategic communication with Bangladesh Awami League and deepen the institutional interaction between the two political parties. The CPC is willing to give play to the advantages of platforms such as the Belt and Road political parties joint consultation mechanism, and promote cooperation in economy, education and infrastructure construction to deliver more benefits to the two nations and the two people. China and Bangladesh are both developing countries and emerging economies. It is hoped the two countries will reinforce international coordination and safeguard regional peace and stability to make contribution to world prosperity and development.

Song introduced China’s approach and experience in poverty alleviation upon enquiry. He expressed, the CPC adheres to the original mission of seeking happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation. Especially since the 18th National Congress of CPC, China has upheld the CPC’s unified leadership in poverty relief work and the people-centered philosophy. The nation has adopted targeted measures, given play to its institutional advantage of pooling national strength to carry out major undertakings, and lifted all rural residents below China’s current poverty line out of poverty. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has made remarkable achievements in poverty alleviation. The CPC is willing to reinforce exchanges on poverty relief experience with Bangladesh Awami League to lead respective countries towards greater progress.

Warmly congratulating on the 100th anniversary of the CPC, Fazel said Bangladesh appreciated the great achievements the Chinese people made under the leadership of the CPC, particularly the victory in the fight against poverty, and believed China made a huge contribution to global development and poverty alleviation cause. Bangladesh Awami League values the friendship with the CPC. It staunchly abides by the one-China principle and is willing to work with the CPC to implement the important consensus of the leaders of the two parties, enhance experience sharing on party building, poverty reduction and anti-corruption, deepen practical cooperation in Belt and Road Initiative, jointly practice multilateralism and safeguard regional prosperity and stability.

Chen Zhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, and Shammi Ahmed, International Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League were present.
