Beijing, April 15th—Li Mingxiang, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), held a video call here today with Dembo Bojang, National President of Gambia’s National People's Party. Ma Jianchun, Chinese Ambassador to Gambia, and Masanneh Nyuku Kinteh, Gambian Ambassador to China, were present.

Li commended the Gambian side’s precious support for issues regarding the Chinese side’s core interests and major concerns. He said the CPC is willing to, on the basis of the four principles of intra-party exchanges, establish intra-party relations with the National People's Party, strengthen experience exchanges on state governance and administration, and promote the stable and healthy development of relations between the two countries. Amid the background of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, Li introduced China’s development achievements and concept, particularly the achievements and experience in poverty alleviation. He expressed that as this year marks the 100th anniversary of the CPC, and the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025), China will begin the new journey toward a modern socialist country, work faster to foster a new development paradigm, and pursue opening-up in a larger scope, to wider areas and at deeper levels. China is willing to enhance the integration of development strategies with African countries, including Gambia, and jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind that is free from poverty and enjoys common development.

Bojang warmly congratulated on the 100th anniversary of the CPC, and admired China’s great development achievements made under the leadership of the CPC, especially China’s achievements in poverty alleviation. Hailing the robust and efficient practical cooperation between our two countries, Bojang said National People's Party is willing to reinforce experience exchanges on state governance and administration with the CPC, enhance party’s capability in governance, realize the development goal of Gambia, and promote relations between China and Gambia for new progress.
