Beijing, April 20th—Chen Zhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and Co-Chairman of the Council of the Silk Road Think Tank Association (SRTA), held a video call here today on the afternoon with Bhokin Bhalakula, former President of the National Assembly of Thailand and Member of the SRTA International Advisory Board.

Chen said, President Xi Jinping delivered an important keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2021 on the morning of April 20th, and called on all countries in Asia and beyond to answer the call of our times, defeat the pandemic through solidarity, strengthen global governance, and keep pursuing a community with a shared future for mankind. China is willing to work with ASEAN countries, including Thailand, to build a closer partnership for health cooperation, a closer partnership for connectivity, a closer partnership for green development and a closer partnership for openness and inclusiveness. China called on countries to further strengthen cooperation in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, promoting regional economic recovery and high-quality construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, so as to maintain the good momentum of regional prosperity and development.

Bhokin Bhalakula spoke highly of President Xi Jinping’s keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2021, praised China for the achievements in COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control, the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the promotion of building a global community of health for all. He expressed his willingness to play an active role as a member of the Member of the SRTA International Advisory Board, and continue to contribute to the development of Thailand-China relations, enhance cooperation between China and ASEAN, and promote the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
