The CPC Listens to the CPV’s Briefing on the 13th National Congress of the CPV

Beijing, April 12th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, assigned by the CPC Central Committee, held a video call here today with Le Hoai Trung, Chairman of the Commission for External Relations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), to listen to the Vietnamese side’s briefing on the 13th National Congress of the CPV.

Song said, the Chinese side attaches great importance to the relations between the two parties and two countries. General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong had a telephone conversation not long ago, and they had an in-depth exchanges of views and reached important consensus on the development of China-Vietnam relations under the new situation, charting the course for the healthy and stable development of the relations between the two parties and two countries. The CPC is ready to work with the CPV to carry forward the traditional friendship, fully implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and countries, strengthen exchanges between departments of central committees and local party committees, deepen exchanges on theoretical discussion and cadre-training, and enhance political mutual trust. It is hoped that the two sides will strengthen the strategic synergy of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Two Corridors and One Belt, properly manage maritime differences, prevent interference from external forces, safeguard the common interests of China and Vietnam, and contribute to regional stability and development.

Song said it is a good tradition for the two parties to inform each other of important issues within their respective parties. The 13th National Congress of the CPV is an important meeting held at a critical stage of Vietnam’s reform and socialist construction. The congress reaffirmed that Vietnam will unswervingly adhere to the leadership of the Communist Party and the socialist system, and set new goals for its endeavor. The Chinese side believes that under the strong leadership of the new CPV Central Committee headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, various undertakings of the CPV and Vietnam will achieve new and greater achievements.

Song also introduced the brilliant achievements of the CPC since its founding 100 years ago, especially the historic achievements since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, as well as the ongoing study and education of Party history.

Le briefed on the 13th National Congress of the CPV, including the development goals for the next five years, 2030 and 2045 set by the Vietnamese side, and thanked the CPC for sharing its successful experience since its founding 100 years ago. He said that the CPV will regard the development of traditional friendly relations with China as its top priority and strategic choice, and is ready to work with the Chinese side to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and countries, strengthen exchanges and mutual learning on party building and state governance and administration, and promote pragmatic cooperation in all fields. Both sides should promote the sustained, sound and steady development of China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, properly resolve maritime disputes, and promote peace, stability and cooperation in the region.

Responsible officials of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the National Supervisory Commission, the Organization Department of the CPC, the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, and the Party School of the CPC Central Committee (National School of Governance), and responsible officials of the Commission for External Relations of the CPV Central Committee, the Office of the CPV Central Committee, the Organization Commission of the CPV Central Committee, the Communication and Education Commission of the CPV Central Committee, the Economic Commission of the CPV Central Committee, the Commission for Mass Mobilisation of the CPV Central Committee, the Theoretical Council of the CPV Central Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam were present.
