Qian Hongshan Attends Dialogue between Chinese and Austrian Political Parties

On May 28, Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended an online dialogue between Chinese and Austrian political parties in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries and delivered a speech.

Qian Hongshan spoke positively of China-Austria relations and the exchanges between bilateral political parties, and hoped that the two sides will promote mutually beneficial cooperation. Qian also said that the Communist Party of China is willing to strengthen exchanges with major political parties of Austria, promote mutual understanding and trust, and build a new form of party-to-party relations featuring seeking common grounds while putting aside differences, mutual respect and mutual learning, so as to make greater contributions to China-Austria relations and China-Europe relations.

Heinz Fischer, former Austrian President and Chairman of Austria-China Friendship Association, and leaders of Austrian People’s Party and Social Democratic Party of Austria attended the dialogue. The Austrian side conveyed the congratulations of President of Austrian People’s Party and Federal Prime Minister Sebastian Kurz on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Austria and China. Besides, Austria recognized the development of bilateral relations over the past 50 years, and said that Austria attaches great importance to relations with China and is ready to push forward exchanges between political parties and cooperation in various fields between the two countries under the new situation.
